Child Shelter International

On our travels to South East Asia in 2002, we visited an orphanage in the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia. We were disturbed by the lack of food and the inadequate facilities and care the sixty children and babies were receiving. We hoped one day to return and lend support through Child Shelter International.

Our return visit to the orphanage in 2003 provided many opportunities to help. We participated in meetings with community people and government officials to decide what was most needed. We were able to provide a new roof, new kitchen, water pump, mosquito nets and mattresses as well as extra food for the orphans. The orphanage will continue to need help, but at this point we have passed the baton to another agency, Sunrise Children’s Village, based in Cambodia.
